Shocking videos document attack on civilian neighborhoods in Homs

Videos have circulated on social media showing some of the violations committed by armed groups attacking civilian neighborhoods in Homs. One video shows gunmen firing indiscriminately at civilian homes in a street in the al-Muhajireen neighborhood.

Other footage shows dozens of heavily armed men gathering and preparing to attack civilian neighborhoods in Homs, which are predominantly Alawite.

In the same context, a video circulated showing dozens of cars and motorcycles carrying armed men entering neighborhoods in Homs, following calls to participate in the attacks under the banner of "Al-Faza'a" (a call to arms).

Other videos also circulated showing smoke rising from al-Muhajireen neighborhood, resulting from the burning of some civilian homes.

Amidst skepticism and disbelief, a scene circulated showing a man, purportedly from the Syrian Interim Government forces, calling out to citizens sheltering in their homes, urging them to come out, and declaring them his brothers, while several burning cars stood beside him.

The Interim Government had imposed a complete curfew in Homs earlier that day following the armed attack on civilian neighborhoods.
