A local source from the occupied city of Girê Spî/Tal Abyad reported a sharp bread crisis affecting the city and its countryside, following the shutdown of most bakeries in the areas of Ain al-Arus and Suluk, which are administratively affiliated with the occupied city.

According to the source, the crisis has persisted for four days due to poor management of the bakeries and repeated thefts of flour, which is then sold on the black market, taking advantage of connections with influential figures among the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation.

Residents of Girê Spî/Tal Abyad have been suffering from deteriorating living conditions since Turkey and its mercenaries occupied the city in late 2019, amid the mercenaries’ control over the service sector and the people’s resources.
