The Serê Kaniyê Displacement Committee has begun notifying families included in the first batch of the return plan after the number was increased to 647 families, paving the way for the return process to begin later this week following the completion of the necessary administrative procedures.

According to ANHA correspondent in Hasakah, the committee has started sorting the lists of families included in the first batch and contacting them, urging them to prepare themselves and their belongings for their return to Serê Kaniyê in the coming days.

Speaking to ANHA agency, Zahra Samou, an administrator with the Serê Kaniyê Displacement Committee, said the number of families included in the first batch had risen to 647 after an increase from the previously announced figure. She noted that the step is part of ongoing preparations to begin the return of displaced residents to their hometown after years of displacement.
