The administration of the Semalka Border Crossing announced today that civilian passage through the crossing has become easier and no longer requires sponsorship, following the fall of the Ba'ath regime in Syria.

The administration clarified that the previous requirement for sponsorship was due to security reasons, confirming that all Syrian civilians are now allowed to cross without obstacles.

Regarding air travelers, the administration stated, "All civilians traveling by air (through airports) are not permitted to cross through the Semalka Border Crossing, in accordance with the decisions and laws in force in the Kurdistan Region."

The administration also confirmed that it has facilitated the passage of approximately 500 citizens with expired passports, as well as individuals who had not previously crossed through the border, without any issues.

The administration concluded by emphasizing that there are no procedures hindering the passage of any societal group through the Semalka Border Crossing.
