Today, the electoral bodies previously formed are choosing members of the People's Assembly in the cities of Hasaka, Qamishlo, and Kobani.

The committee designated the meeting hall in the Hasaka Governorate administration building as the polling center for the Hasaka electoral district, while the old cultural center, next to the Engineers Syndicate, was designated as the polling center for the Qamishlo electoral district in Hasaka Governorate.

The committee also designated the cultural center in the city of Kobani in Aleppo Governorate as the polling center for the People's Assembly elections for the Kobani electoral district.

Nine members are to be elected in Hasaka Governorate out of a total of fifteen members. The head of the interim government will select five members, while one member representing the city of Serêkaniyê was elected earlier.

In the city of Kobani, two candidates will be chosen.

Kurdish powers and parties expressed their discontent with the electoral process. Twenty-four Kurdish political parties condemned what they described as an attempt to reproduce policies of marginalization against the Kurds through the mechanism for forming the Syrian People's Assembly. They emphasized that limiting Kurdish representation in Hasaka Governorate to only four seats represents a circumvention of demographic and political realities and paves the way for entrenching exclusion within Syrian state institutions in the future.

After the fall of the Assad regime and the rise of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to power, members are chosen through a mechanism combining election and appointment. A number of members are elected by voters within electoral districts, while others are appointed by the head of the interim government.

Each governorate or electoral district is allocated a specific quota of seats. Voters cast their ballots for candidates at designated polling stations, and the final results are announced after the voting and ballot counting process is completed.

The People's Assembly currently has 210 members, 70 of whom are appointed by the head of the interim government.
