Security tensions in northern Daraa countryside

The city of Sheikh Maskin in the northern Daraa countryside witnessed security tensions following an attack carried out by unidentified gunmen in a car, who opened fire on members of the General Security forces affiliated with the Damascus government.

The attack resulted in a direct clash between the two sides, resulting in the death of one of the attackers and the wounding of others with varying injuries. The attackers then fled towards the villages of al-Dali and al-Suhailiya in the northern Daraa countryside.

This incident comes amid the ongoing security tensions in Daraa Governorate, amid escalating attacks targeting Damascus government forces.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that in the past few hours, clashes erupted between "General Security" forces and unidentified gunmen who attempted to storm a security headquarters in the city of Salamiyah in the Hama countryside, resulting in the death of one of the attackers and the arrest of another, who was later taken to a security facility.
