Security forces arrest 85 ISIS mercenaries
The Internal Security Forces of NE Syria arrested 85 mercenaries from ISIS cells, and found a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, in addition to destroying hideouts, as a result of their third phase of the “Humanitarian and Security” operation in Al-Hol camp.
The outcome of the third phase of the “Humanitarian and Security” operation was revealed in the final statement of the phase, which was made by the General Command of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria, during a press conference in Al-HOl camp.
According to a statement by the Internal Security Forces, 85 mercenaries were arrested, including the so-called “first Shari’i in Al-HOl Camp,” nicknamed “Abu Abdul Hamid,” the leader directly responsible for spreading Takfiri thought and issuing death fatwas and threats against the camp’s residents.
The Internal Security Forces eliminated the so-called "Abu Sufyan al-Lahibi", the leader of ISIS cells within the camp and its surroundings, and another mercenary accompanying him.
The Women's Protection Units also managed to liberate the Yazidi woman, "Kovan Edo Khorto", 10 years after she was kidnapped by ISIS mercenaries.
The participating forces found “8 Kalashnikov weapons, 4 mines, 2 explosive belts, 7 hand grenades, 25 detonators, 1 RPG shell, a quantity of ammunition and military supplies, a quantity of narcotic materials, and the destruction of 5 tunnels.”
The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria, with the support of the Women's Protection Units and the Syrian Democratic Forces, launched the third phase of the operation on the 27th of last January in Al-Hol camp, southeast of the city of Hasaka in Jazera Canton.
