SDF's Abdi: Uncovering fate of abductees, protecting Shengal global duty

The General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, commemorated the victims of the Shengal genocide, stressing that uncovering the fate of all those abducted and ensuring the security of Shengal and the Yazidi people is a moral, humanitarian, and international responsibility.

In a post on X on Sunday, SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi commemorated the Victims of the Shengal genocide on the twelfth anniversary of the massacre.

He said the anniversary is an occasion to remember all the victims, as well as the fighters who sacrificed their lives defending the Yazidi people, helping defeat ISIS and rescuing thousands of civilians from genocide.

Abdi stressed that uncovering the fate of all abductees and ensuring the security of Shengal and the protection of the Yazidi people remain a moral, humanitarian, and international responsibility. He called for continued efforts to achieve justice and prevent such crimes from happening again.
