The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement on Monday evening, announcing that the towns of Dhiban and Tayana were subjected to attacks by remnants of the former Baathist regime.

The beginning of the statement read: "Cells from the remnants of the former Baathist regime and the National Defense Militia continued their sabotage actions in the towns of Dhiban and Tayana, east of Deir-ez-Zor, by blocking off main roads and attacking security headquarters and service institutions."

The statement indicated that the attacks aim to "disrupt life and spread chaos and instability in the region."

The statement stressed that "the forces of the Deir-ez-Zor Military Council will not tolerate these attempts and will confront them with all force and will pursue these mercenaries, arrest them and bring them to justice."

added: "Our forces and the forces of the International Coalition will continue their joint operations and deal in the necessary manner to ensure security and prevent the opportunity for the movement and revival of ISIS terrorist cells."

The statement concluded by saying: "While we appreciate the awareness of our people in Deir-ez-Zor and their cooperation with our forces, we assure them that the security of Deir-ez_Zor is a red line and anyone who tries to harm it will be pursued.
