SDF: Person presented as civilian in al-Hol Camp is Daesh fighter

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) confirmed that the individual portrayed by some media outlets as a civilian and a detained doctor in al-Hol Camp is, in fact, a Daesh mercenary. Footage from “Euphrates Network” reportedly shows him in military uniform performing an oath of allegiance (“Bay‘ah”) to Daesh.

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement regarding a person who was presented as a “doctor detained in al-Hol Camp” and described by some media as a civilian. The statement pointed to evidence proving that the individual is a Daesh mercenary who had previously performed an oath of allegiance to the organization.

Some media outlets had portrayed the person as a detained doctor and civilian in al-Hol Camp. However, older footage filmed by the Euphrates Network clearly shows him in military uniform among the ranks of Daesh fighters performing what they call an “allegiance pledge” to the organization.

SDF Media Center noted that it is the same person and the same face, but the story changes depending on the narrative some parties want to promote.

The statement emphasized that this contradiction exposes attempts by certain entities to whitewash the image of Daesh mercenaries, mislead public opinion, and cover up the crime of their release by the Damascus government following its control of those areas.
