The Cairo Center for Kurdish Studies issued a statement today affirming its solidarity, support, and backing for the Kurds in Rojava.

The Center explained that “these attacks are being carried out by terrorist factions operating under the guise of the Syrian army,” pointing to the involvement of well-known regional powers in these schemes, in addition to what it described as an international failure that is “not new when it comes to the Kurds.”

The Center expressed confidence that “victory will be on the side of the Kurds, as they are defending their existence, land, and legitimate rights,” stressing that “the Kurds have never been advocates of aggression, but are instead engaged in a battle of self-defense.”

It also voiced astonishment and condemnation of the hesitant international and regional positions and the failure to do justice to the Kurds, “despite the pivotal role they played in combating the terrorist organization ISIS and the great sacrifices they made, which contributed to saving the region and the world from the threat of the organization.”

In concluding its statement, the Cairo Center for Kurdish Studies called on international and regional powers, global institutions, and free people around the world to strengthen support and solidarity with the Kurds in Syria, affirming that they are facing a war of survival and existence, and calling for intensified activities and mobilization to thwart the schemes targeting them.
