SDF foils ISIS attack in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Media Center issued a statement on Tuesday announcing that its forces had thwarted an ISIS attack on one of its positions in the Deir ez-Zor countryside. The statement included,

"On Tuesday, our forces repelled a terrorist attack carried out by a cell of the ISIS terrorist organization against one of our military positions in the village of al-Marasheda in the town of al-Susah in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor."

The statement added, "During the direct clash, our forces managed to kill one of the terrorists and seriously wound another, in addition to seizing the motorcycle used in the attack and confiscating a Kalashnikov assault rifle with all its ammunition."

The statement emphasized, "All attempts by the organization to undermine security or threaten stability in the region will be met with firmness and force, without any leniency. Search and pursuit operations are ongoing around the clock to eliminate any potential pockets of the organization's sleeper cells and prevent them from resuming their criminal activities."
