SDF foil infiltration attempt in Deir Hafer, Turkish drone targets their positions

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) repelled an infiltration attempt by mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government south of Deir Hafer, forcing them to retreat, while a Turkish drone targeted one of the SDF’s positions in the countryside of al-Tabqa.

The SDF Media Center announced late Tuesday–Wednesday that SDF thwarted an infiltration attempt carried out by mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government in Syria along the axis of Zubaida village in the southern countryside of Deir Hafer, confirming that the attackers fled after the attempt failed. The operation was conducted under the cover of drone surveillance and with the use of automatic weapons.

In a related development, the Media Center reported at dawn today that a Turkish Bayraktar drone targeted an SDF military position in the village of al-Bu‘asi in the countryside of al-Tabqa, resulting in a number of fighters being wounded and transferred for medical treatment.

This marks the third such strike within a single week, as part of an ongoing escalation in the region.
