The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces announced today, Saturday, the dismantling of a cell affiliated with ISIS mercenaries in the countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, and the arrest of its members, including the leader of the cell called "Abdul Rahman al-Aziz".

The statement said that "the military operations teams (TOL) affiliated with our forces carried out a successful security operation last Thursday, after getting accurate intelligence information about the cell's movements and its hiding place." The statement added that "the operation resulted in the arrest of the leader Abdul Rahman al-Aziz and two other members, Talal al-Ali and Nassar al-Aziz."

The statement indicated that "the cell was responsible for carrying out several terrorist acts in the region, including targeting our forces, civilians and public facilities, in addition to collecting security information for the organization." It also confirmed that "the leader Abdul Rahman was in contact with prominent leaders in the ISIS organization, such as Amer al-Rafdan and Abu Osama al-Iraqi."

The Syrian Democratic Forces confirmed that they "will continue to pursue the remnants of the terrorist organization with an iron fist, and their resistance against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries will not deter them from continuing their strikes against ISIS, despite the organization's attempts to exploit the current circumstances to resume its terrorist acts."

This announcement comes within the framework of the Syrian Democratic Forces' ongoing efforts to enhance security and stability in the areas of North and East Syria, and combat terrorist threats in the region.
