The co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) delivered the remarks today while attending a condolence tent for Sipan Hesso, a fighter in the ranks of the Hasakah Brigade who was killed by an armed group after being abducted on September 10.

Leyla Qara Man added that no one would be able to marginalize the rights of Kurds or silence their demands for freedom. She called for preventing attempts to incite discord among the region’s communities and preserving civil peace.

Regarding the integration process, Leyla Qara Man stressed that integration “does not mean ending the Kurdish presence. The language is part of existence and identity, and we will not give up this demand.”
