SDC calls on Damascus authority to reconsider formation of preparatory committee for "National Dialogue Conference"

The SDC explained that it is following with great concern the decision to form the preparatory committee for the "National Dialogue Conference", and said: "This committee was formed from a spectrum and a single political orientation, which violates the principle of fair and inclusive representation of all components of the Syrian people."
The Council stressed, through a statement, that the formed committee does not represent Syrians of all sects and diversity, and there is a clear exclusion of political, societal and national forces, which constitute a large and balanced percentage in the composition of Syrian society, and their exclusion is a flagrant violation of the principle of national partnership.
The Syrian Democratic Council pointed out that the deliberate neglect and deliberate absence of national political forces that opposed the Assad regime for years, and were killed, arrested, exiled and displaced, is an act that does not reflect a real intention for everyone to participate in building a future Syria, and in essence reproduces the policies of exclusion and marginalization that prevailed under the former Assad regime, and stands as an obstacle to build a real democratic state.

The council, described the language of the spokesman for the preparatory committee in its press conference, described the confiscation of the Syrians' decision in their choices about the future of the country and the form of administration and representation. "The other opinion is one of the main pillars of the factors for the success of the dialogue, and the committee should not assume in advance the outcome and objectives of the dialogue, and it has no right to accuse a Syrian party of charges that are not worthy of a call for dialogue and are not commensurate with the facts," the council said.
The Council stressed that with all Syrian political and societal forces, and with all spectrums of Syrian society, they are real and active partners in building a future Syria.
 And stressed the participation of all in all stages, joints and requirements of the transitional process, and we insist on it.
The Council called for reconsidering the formation of the preparatory committee to serve the National Dialogue Conference, so that it would be inclusive of all Syrian components, in line with the requirements of the transitional period, and establish a real national dialogue that contributes to building a democratic, pluralistic and decentralized Syria that guarantees the rights of all its citizens.
