The Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries continue their attacks on the regions of North and East Syria for years, and their pace has noticeably increased since the fall of the Ba'ath regime on December 8, 2024. In this context, the writer and professor at the University of Kobani, Salah al-Din Muslim, condemned these attacks, affirming that the occupation state is launching its attacks brutally, specifically targeting the Tishrin Dam. However, the people of the region continue to resist by all possible means to thwart these attacks.

Muslim pointed out that the main goal of the occupying state is to eliminate the Democratic Nation project, emphasizing the contradiction between its media statements about peace and the reality of its aggressive policies on the ground. He added, "True peace is the peace of the Democratic Nation, and only through it will real stability and peace be achieved in the region."

"The democratic nation was built on the strongest foundations."

Saleh Muslim pointed out that the President of the Turkish occupying state, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, seeks to ignite wars with the aim of eliminating the Democratic Nation project, explaining that Erdogan and his former intelligence chief and current foreign minister, Hakan Fidan, are making continuous efforts to thwart this project led by the Kurds. However, he emphasized that these attempts are doomed to fail because the Democratic Nation project is based on solid foundations, and no force can destroy it.

Muslim added: "When peace is achieved, Erdogan's regime will collapse; because it is a regime based on igniting wars and fueling conflicts."

He also affirmed that the Kurdish people in North and East Syria are peace-loving, demand their legitimate rights, and steadfastly resist the occupation's attacks, pointing out their strong will and determination derived from the ideology of the democratic nation. He clarified that this people have not attacked anyone from the region's inhabitants, but always strive to maintain peaceful and shared coexistence.

Either peace or war

Saleh Muslim pointed out that the Turkish state has two options, with no third option: either to pursue the path of peace or to continue the war regarding the Kurdish issue, explaining that achieving peace will not only benefit the Kurdish cause but will also extend its impact to the entire world. He added that the Turkish state still refuses to recognize a political entity in North and East Syria because it realizes that this would be a step towards achieving peace in the Middle East.

At the end of his speech, Saleh al-Din Muslim affirmed that the people, alongside intellectuals, artists, and media professionals, engaged in the resistance, made sacrifices, and continue to defend their land. He pointed out that everyone headed to the Tishrin Dam and participated in repelling the occupation attacks, demonstrating resilience and strong will in the face of challenges.
