Russian forces deployed in the NE Syria region tried to conduct a joint patrol with Turkey by force in the countryside of the city of Çil Agha in the Jazera Canton, and ran over a citizen, amid popular rejection of joint Russian patrols with Turkey in the region.

Russian forces met the protest with live bullets indiscriminately in the vicinity of the site of demonstrators and protesters in the village of Dêrna Aghê, and fired tear gas among them.

With its armored vehicles, it intimidated the residents, and ran over the citizen, Evin Issa, after which she was taken to hospital.

The protest was able to prevent the entry of Turkish armored vehicles into the area, and to conduct the joint patrol.

Since October 2019, Turkey and Russia have been conducting joint patrols, which are met with popular rejection, due to the continued Turkish attacks on the NE Syria region, as well as the Russian side's lack of a serious position towards these attacks.
