The people of Rojava have confirmed that they remain on general alert to protect their regions from any attack targeting their presence or achievements. Residents of the villages of Al-Yan in the Çil Agha countryside of the Jazira Canton stated that their mobilization is a defense of their lands and a precaution against repeated attacks. They noted that the agreement, which stipulates integration while respecting the Kurdish region’s special status, has not yet been fully implemented.

In an interview with our agency, Marwan Rashid said that since the announcement of the general alert, residents have resisted extensive attacks launched by the Interim Government against the region.

He emphasized that Kurdish unity stopped these attacks, yet the agreement’s provisions have still not been fully executed due to delays by the Interim Government.

Meanwhile, Hamza Younis, while performing protective duties in his town of Abra, stressed that safeguarding the region is a national and moral duty. He called on the guarantor countries to pressure for full implementation of the agreement and to control the uncontrolled weapons.

Due to the Interim Government’s lack of seriousness in implementing the agreement, Hussein Abdullah clarified that the threat of attacks remains. He affirmed that residents will continue protecting their areas around the clock and are prepared for any scenario targeting their presence and gains, pledging to resist until the last breath.

On January 17, the Interim Government launched attacks on areas of northern and eastern Syria and Rojava. To protect the revolution’s gains, the Syrian Democratic Forces announced a general alert, which was answered by the people in the region, alongside the Kurdish people in Kurdistan and the diaspora.
