Residents head to Tishrin Dam following AANES’ call

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to launch intense artillery, warplane, and drone attacks on Tishrin Dam for over a month, causing significant damage to the dam's structure.

In this context, the Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria region issued a public statement yesterday, warning of the consequences of the ongoing Turkish bombardment on the dam and the associated risks.

The administration explained that damage to the dam forewarns of severe repercussions for the entire region, potentially harming the Euphrates Dam and flooding large areas of land and surrounding areas along the Euphrates River in Raqqa, Tabqa, and as far as Iraq.

Accordingly, the Autonomous Administration called on the international coalition, the United Nations, international and local humanitarian organizations, and all relevant humanitarian bodies to take urgent action to neutralize Tishrin Dam from shelling and to put an end to the systematic attacks on vital infrastructure in North and East Syria. The administration also urged residents to organize a protest today at Tishrin Dam.

In response to the Autonomous Administration's call, hundreds of residents of Hasaka city gathered early in the morning at Panorama Roundabout and proceeded in a large convoy of cars towards Tishrin Dam to participate in the protest.

The residents affirmed that they are heading there to express their rejection of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries' attacks on the North and East Syria region and to emphasize their support for the resistance of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Women's Protection Units in the face of these attacks and to protect their vital facilities.

Meanwhile, residents of the Raqqa, Tabqa, and Euphrates Cantons are also preparing to head towards the dam.
