Representatives of sects, religions call for brotherhood to build a new Syria

With the continued military attacks of the Turkish occupation on the region of North and East Syria, the occupation and its mercenaries are trying, through special warfare methods, to spread sedition among the components of the Syrian people, especially the Arabs and Kurds, in order to turn the country into an arena where Syrian blood is shed.

In the same context, representatives of sects and religions in North and East Syria expressed their position on these attempts, as the head of the Faculty of Religious Sciences at the University of Rojava, and a member of the Syriac Union Party, Sawsan Abdul Ahad, expressed that the region of North and East Syria was, and still is, a home for coexistence between different religions and sects.

Pointing out that human life is based on common values among all people, she added: "The Syriac component rejects sectarianism in all its forms," calling for the promotion of coexistence among all nationalities and religions in Syria.

For her part, a member of the Yazidi Union of Syria, Leyla Ibrahim, said: "Our goal is to build a new democratic Syria under the banner of cultural and linguistic diversity, which includes all sects and components, and allows each of them to live in peace and with its own culture and language."

She pointed out that the region of North and East Syria has witnessed remarkable developments over the past 13 years, despite the challenges and obstacles that the region has faced.

In the same context, the spokesman for the Alawite sect, Tawfiq Asaad Rajab, called on all sects and nationalities to cooperate in order to build a new Syria free of sectarianism.

He stressed at the end of his speech the need for brotherhood and the protection of intellectual and cultural properties, and focusing on affection and love for others as a basis for building a society of peace and mutual respect.
