Renewed shelling targets villages in Sweida countryside

Syrian Transitional Government shelled positions in the villages of al-Majdal and Ariqa with rocket-propelled grenades from their positions in the village of al-Mazra'a, amid escalating tensions and repeated truce violations in the area.

Today, Syrian Transitional Government forces fired RPGs from their positions in the village of Al-Mazra'a in the Sweida countryside, targeting positions in the villages of Al-Majdal and Ariqa, west of Sweida. According to local residents, there is no information yet on the extent of human or material losses.

Yesterday, the Sweida countryside witnessed a truce violation, coinciding with an internet outage. This included intense machine gun fire targeting the villages of Samid and Al-Kharsa in the Sweida countryside, with no information about casualties.

Syrian Transitional Government forces targeted civilian homes in the villages of Ariqa and Al-Kharsa in the western Sweida countryside on Sunday night, using heavy machine guns from their positions in the village of Dama, northwest of the city.
