Today, leader Abdullah Ocalan’s brother, Muhammad Ocalan, through his lawyer Mazlum Dinç, along with the brother of Omar Khairi Kunar, Ali Kunar, the brother of Hamili Yildirim, Polat Yildirim, and the sister of Veysi Aktaş, Meliha Aktaş, submitted a new request to the office of the Public Prosecutor in the Turkish city of Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate to meet with them.

Lawyers from the Al-Asr Human Rights Office submit two requests each week to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate to meet with the detainees. Their families also submit two requests weekly, totaling 16 requests each month, without receiving any response.

It is worth noting that the last meeting between the leader and his lawyers, Rezan Sarıca and Newroz Uysal, took place on August 7, 2019, and continued on March 25, 2021, through a five-minute phone call with his brother Muhammed Ocalan, after which the call was cut off.

On October 23, 2024, after four years of interruption, leader Abdullah Ocalan met directly with his nephew Omar Ocalan. During the meeting, the leader stated in a message: "The isolation continues, but if conditions permit, I have the theoretical and practical power to shift this process from the ground of conflict and violence to legal and political grounds."

Meanwhile, the system of torture and extermination continues in Imrali, and leader Abdullah Ocalan is denied his rights even as a detainee through what Turkish authorities call "disciplinary penalties."
