2 fighters martyred in ISIS attacks in Deir ez-Zor

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) confirmed that ISIS is exploiting the ongoing chaos in Syrian territories and the preoccupation of their forces with battles to repel the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in NE Syria. This allows ISIS to revive itself and gain strength to carry out "terrorist" acts. The SDF reported the martyrdom of two fighters in separate attacks by ISIS in the Deir ez-Zor countryside.

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement to the public today regarding ISIS attacks in the Deir ez-Zor countryside. The statement reads:

"Amid the prevailing tension in Syria and the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on areas in NE Syria, our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, are engaged in battles to repel these attacks across all our areas. In this context, the terrorist organization ISIS is attempting to exploit the ongoing chaos in Syrian territories to revive itself and gain strength to carry out terrorist acts, primarily targeting the regions of NE Syria, as they are the most secure and stable.

Last night, Thursday, ISIS cells carried out several terrorist operations. One attack targeted a vehicle belonging to the Military Discipline Forces in the town of Markada, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, carrying several Military Discipline personnel. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of one fighter.

In another terrorist act, an ISIS cell targeted a vehicle of our forces in the town of al-Shuhail after it left a military post. The attack led to the martyrdom of one of our fighters.

Additionally, another ISIS cell targeted the water station in the town of Dhiban with an RPG shell, causing material damage to the station without any human casualties.

These attacks come at a time when the region is experiencing simultaneous security tensions with the attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on areas in NR Syria. It has become evident that the threat posed by ISIS increases whenever the occupation launches its attacks, which explains the organic relationship between the terrorist organization and the occupation."
