Reactivating railways’ meeting in Hasaka

To discuss ways to revitalize the railway sector and improve its performance in Hasaka Governorate, Governor Noureddin Ahmed held a meeting today with Osama Haddad, Director General of the Syrian Railways Corporation.

The visit included a field tour of Hasaka Station, which involved a technical inspection of the station's readiness and equipment, as well as an inspection of locomotives, tankers, and other vehicles, with the aim of assessing maintenance needs.

The two sides reviewed a technical report on the current state of the railway network, identifying the urgent requirements for rehabilitation work necessary to restore its efficiency.

The Governor of Hasaka affirmed the governorate's readiness to provide facilities and support to the technical teams and emphasized the importance of railways in supporting economic development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached on a work program with a timetable to remove obstacles and resume operations on the transit line connecting the Turkish and Iraqi borders.
