The Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt reopened in both directions today, following a nearly year-long complete closure during the war between Israel and Hamas. On the first day, the number of travelers is limited to a few dozen in each direction.

According to Egyptian officials at Rafah, 150 people will be allowed to leave Gaza, while 50 will be allowed to enter.

Three responsible sources reported that 50 Palestinian patients and wounded individuals will enter through the crossing, each accompanied by up to two companions, bringing the total number to 150.

Earlier, Egyptian media reported that only 50 people would be allowed to cross in each direction before the crossing closes at 13:00 GMT.
