Qamishlo, Girkê Legê host meetings on  International plot against leader Ocalan

The Democratic Union Party (PYD) organized the meetings today on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the international conspiracy of October 9, 1998. One meeting was held at the Aram Tigran Center for Culture and Art in Rimêlan, affiliated with Girkê Legê, and two meetings were convened in Qamishlo — one in the Qidurbek neighborhood and another in al-Hilaliyah.

The gatherings began with a moment of silence in tribute to the martyrs. Speaking at the Girkê Legê meeting, Ibrahim Hussein, a member of the Girkê Legê City Council, stressed the importance of escalating and continuing the struggle until Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s physical freedom is secured.

He stated, “The international conspiracy that sought to break our will for over two decades has failed. The Leader’s philosophy has become a beacon for all peoples aspiring to freedom and democracy.”

Speakers at the Qamishlo meetings underlined that “despite his imprisonment on Imrali Island, Leader Abdullah Ocalan launched a profound intellectual project for peace and freedom.”

They affirmed that “the conspiracy aimed to crush the Kurdish will, but instead strengthened it, reinforcing the unity and resilience of the Kurdish, Arab, and Syriac peoples of North and East Syria, whose blood has been shed together in the cause of freedom and equality.”

The meetings concluded with a collective call to intensify the struggle to achieve the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.
