PUK'sTalabani: Golden Bla Award  should be given to martyr Shirvan Kobani

The head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani suggested that next year's "Bla" award would go to the martyr Shirvan Kobani, real name is Haffal Abdo, as he was one of the Kurdistan fighters and said: "This message will be a victory for our brothers and sisters in Syria and a message for enemies and traitors."

On Tuesday, in the Sulaymaniyah Arts Hall, the ceremony for distributing the 18th “Bla” (Ibrahim Ahmed) Golden Award was held, which is given to individuals in the fields of writing, politics, struggle, and art.

The head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, spoke during the ceremony and said: “Today I present a proposal to Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed and the organizing committee of the ceremony, in 2025, that the Golden Bla Award be given to the martyr Hafal Abdo “Shirvan Kobani.”This is because martyr is a significant martyr of Kurdistan and deserves recognition through this award." He also said: "It also a support to all individuals in Syria and every Kurd who is actively engaged in the fight for an honorable Kurdistan."

"Nevertheless, this message is directed against our rivals and those collaborating with them, which we tell them (we are Kurds and we will always be Kurds)," he said.

The leader of the anti-terrorism units in southern Kurdistan, Haval Abdo “Shirvan Kobani,” was martyred on the night of March 15, 2023, along with eight of his companions in the Bahdinan region as a result of the fall of two helicopters.

The awards are given annually to creative and distinguished people who have served the Kurds and Kurdistan, in 9 different fields: “The ideal mother, the ideal writer, the ideal linguist, the ideal judge, the ideal activist, the ideal academic, the friend of the Kurds, the friend and writer of the friend of the Kurdish people, and the ideal Kurdish journalist and writer.” The “Activist and Ideal Doctor” award went to Dr. Joan Hami from NE Syria.
