In a statement issued today, Wednesday, the PUK denounced the attack on the headquarters of the 70th Forces Unit of the Peshmerga in the Tasluja area of Sulaymaniyah Province, which was carried out using two drones. The party described it as “a criminal act targeting the sovereignty of Iraq and the safety of its citizens.”

The party expressed strong rejection and condemnation of the incident, emphasizing that “such attacks represent a violation of the sovereignty of Iraq’s land and airspace, including the Kurdistan Region, and pose a serious threat to regional security and the safety of civilians.”

It further noted that “the repeated attacks, which began with the targeting of Kirkuk yesterday and reached Sulaymaniyah today, reflect a dangerous escalation in security breaches.”

The PUK urged Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani to “form an urgent investigative committee to determine the source of the drone and missile attacks and identify the responsible parties.”

The party also called for “all necessary measures to be taken to protect the lives and property of unarmed civilians and to prevent any threats to national security and coexistence.”
