Today, Saturday, activists gathered in Al-Karama Square in the city of Sweida, calling for collective action beyond divisions. They demanded the opening of files related to mass graves, displacement, and arrests that affected thousands of civilians during July 2025.

Participants stressed the need to address these issues comprehensively, warning against the continuation of what they described as policies of siege and starvation impacting Syria as a whole.

During the protest, activist Adel Hattoum told ANHA agency that the country needs a “comprehensive revival,” citing what he described as political failure by the interim government across multiple fronts.

Meanwhile, engineer and activist Muthanna Al-Andari pointed to what he described as “serious violations” in Sweida, arguing that fragmenting these issues serves security agendas and obstructs real solutions.

Protesters called for clear measures to address violations, alongside demands to change the current political course in a way that ensures stability and protects civilians’ rights.
