The families of detainees and residents of the city of Amuda called for the release of their children who have been held by the Syrian Interim Government since the beginning of last January.

Today, the families of detainees and residents of Amuda organized a protest in Free Woman Square, demanding the release of their children detained by the Syrian Interim Government since early January.

Relatives of the detainees and local residents participated in the event, carrying photos of their children and banners reading: “Release Our Children” and “We Want Our Children Back.”

According to the provisions of the January 29 agreement, five batches of detainees have been released over the past months, the latest on May 25. Earlier today (June 1), 28 female fighters from the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) were also released.
