Preachers and imams denounce Turkish occupation attacks on NE Syria

Yesterday, the Turkish occupation state targeted a car on the Tal Brak-Al-Hol road, leading to the martyrdom of 3 citizens who were in the car, including a member of the Democratic Islam Conference.

Condemning this targeting, the Democratic Islam Conference today made a statement, which was read by conference member Jasser Saleh, in the building of the religious institution in the city of Qamishlo, in the presence of conference members.

The statement said: “At this stage that Syria in general is going through, especially NE Syria, all components of the Syrian people must look optimistically towards salvation from the injustice and persecution that the country has suffered from for a long time at the hands of the collapsed Baathist regime.”

And pointed out that: “Syria and the region of NE Syria still feel real concern about an external threat represented by the Turkish state, which has been launching systematic attacks on our regions and people, with their various components and age groups, without regard to the rights of neighbors or the sanctity of humanity, for more than a decade.” With the aim of occupying our land, displacing our people, and annihilating our rich and diverse cultures.”

The statement condemned: "The brutal attacks that target our people with all its components, and our land with all its infrastructure, and we particularly mention the peaceful clerics who strive to serve society, implant humanitarian principles, and promote coexistence among the various components."

And stressed "our commitment to carrying the banner of resistance, peace and brotherhood, and our determination to move forward towards achieving these goals."

The statement called on: "All religious institutions and international centers, including the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, to show their positions regarding this blatant aggression."

In this context, the preachers and imams of the city of Tel Hamis made a statement, which was read by the co-chair of the religious institution in the city, Moataz Al-Antar, in the yard of the Al-Kabir Mosque.

The statement denounced: "The targeting that led to the martyrdom of three comrades, including Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tami, head of the religious council in Tel Brak."

And continued, "This inhumane act, which threatens the lives of scholars and preachers, is a crime against humanity."

Also stressed, "We must honor our scholars and sheikhs instead of killing them, because God honored them when He said: (God raises those who believe and those who have been given knowledge to degrees)."

The statement stressed that "Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tami was a lover of his country and had a right word towards Turkish crime, and was not satisfied with the injustice to which the people of NE Syria are exposed."
