The people of Tabqa Canton celebrated the eighth anniversary of the liberation of their city yesterday (May 10), in a celebration that embodied the unity of the community's components. Attendees participated in singing and dancing in Arabic and Kurdish dances, expressing their joy on this historic day.

On the sidelines of the celebration, citizen Barin Mamou affirmed that the liberation of Tabqa marked a turning point toward stability and coexistence, emphasizing that the joy will not be complete until all occupied areas, such as Afrin, Serekaniye, and Tal Abyad/Gire Spi, are liberated. She described the Autonomous Administration project as the path to consolidating the brotherhood of the peoples of Syria.

For her part, citizen Dilshan Muslim described this day as "historic," emphasizing that it embodies the spirit of resistance and free will, expressing her hope for continued progress on various levels despite the military and civilian challenges.

Citizen Ruqaya al-Ali considered May 10th a "sunrise of freedom" for women, as they were liberated from the oppression and restrictions imposed by ISIS and began to actively participate in institutions, decisions, and councils. She noted that Tabqa today is a vibrant city, and women are an essential part of it, contributing to reconstruction, education, and security. Which makes the anniversary not just a day of liberation, but a day of rebirth.
