Politician: National Dialogue Conference is not complete

The political activist Ibrahim al-Mohammad confirmed that so-called "National Dialogue Conference" was shortage, and he added: "Political exclusion, one party, one way, and one nationalism are the key causes for the eruption of the Syrian crisis, and convening the conference in such a manner made any outcome that may result from it unacceptable and insufficient to the Syrian people and its parts on the entire Syrian geography."

Yesterday, Tuesday, the so-called "National Dialogue Conference" was held, excluding most of the democratic political forces in Syria, led by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

The Future Syria Party confirmed that the "Syrian National Dialogue Conference" that was held lacked genuine participation, as many active parties representing broad segments of Syrian society, especially political parties and movements, were excluded. Additionally, the appointed committee did not provide a clear and transparent mechanism for communicating with citizens or for considering their ideas and suggestions. This matter raises concern and further marginalizes the voice of the Syrian people in the decision-making process and in building a new Syria and its future.

The political activist Ibrahim al-Mohammed from al-Tabqa canton spoke about the Syrians' disappointment with this conference, saying: "The conference organized in Damascus disappointed the Syrians who hoped for liberation from the rule and ideology of a single color, only to be shocked by the continuation of this approach even after the fall of the regime. This direction does not befit Syria, whose history and civilization extend for more than 7,000 years and encompass ethnic, racial, and sectarian diversity."

Ibrahim al-Mohammad Maseer explained: "One of the difficulties preventing the conference from achieving satisfactory results for the Syrians is the exclusion of an important part of the Syrian components and the interference from regional and international countries in the outcomes of this conference. Additionally, the haste in holding it has rendered it devoid of substance and has increased the division among the Syrians."

Al-Mohammad said: "The future of Syria and its future constitution cannot be shaped by dialogue sessions that last only two days and by excluding a large part of the Syrians. This could be the beginning of continued sessions to reach constitutional systems, as constitutional sessions require a long time and the diversity of ethnic and sectarian groups, and they need people specialized in law and constitutions to have an economic and social dimension."

The conference was shortage.

Al-Mohammad pointed out that exclusion and limiting participation to a specific group that meets the organizers' agenda, while avoiding any proposals that do not appeal to them, and the exclusion of long-standing political components and opposition figures to the former regime since the 1980s, have made the conference incomplete and not representative of the aspirations of the Syrians who started their revolution. Meanwhile, some consider it a realization of the exclusionary slogans that kept the revolution away from achieving its goals for 14 years (the Alawite on the coffin and the Christian in Beirut).

The political activist Ibrahim al-Mohammad confirmed that: "Political exclusion, a single party, a single approach, and a single nationalism are the main reasons for the outbreak of the Syrian crisis, and holding the conference with this approach made any results that come out of it unsatisfactory and unacceptable to the Syrian people and its components across the Syrian geography."

Al-Mohammad pointed out that: "From the very first spark of the Syrian revolution, its slogans called for freedom and political pluralism. However, after the fall of the tyrannical regime, the policy of exclusion continues, similar to the previous regime, in a clear detachment from the values of the revolution that the Syrians, with all their components and spectrums, carried out. This exclusion leads us back to a repressive regime with a single ideology and a single color."
