Political Parties, Tribes support SDF, national dialogue for decentralized Syria

In a public statement, political parties, tribal leaders, civil society organizations, and various community representatives in  Jazira reaffirmed their support for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the national dialogue process. They called for the establishment of a pluralistic, democratic, and decentralized Syria, underpinned by a constitution that guarantees the rights of all Syrian communities.

 Within the Justice Palace in Hasaka, representatives of political parties, tribal leaders, and civil society organizations gathered to deliver a joint statement to the public. The statement was read by Sheikh Akram Al-Mahshoush, Deputy Secretary of the Conservative Party, in the presence of dozens of Muslim and Christian religious leaders, Arab and Kurdish tribal dignitaries, and representatives of political parties and civil society organizations. Attendees raised the flags of the Syrian Democratic Forces alongside those of participating political entities.

 The statement addressed the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East, with a specific focus on Syria. It emphasized that since the beginning of the Syrian revolution, the SDF has been formed through the collective efforts of Syria’s diverse communities, playing a key role in liberating territories from ISIS. It highlighted the sacrifices made by Syrians from all backgrounds in the pursuit of freedom and dignity.

 "In light of these sacrifices and shared struggles, we, the political parties, tribal leaders, and civil society organizations, declare our unwavering support for the Syrian Democratic Forces," the statement affirmed.

 The statement reiterated the call for a pluralistic, democratic, and decentralized Syria, advocating for constructive dialogue between the SDF and the Damascus government in pursuit of a solution that serves the interests of all Syrians.

The statement concluded. "We emphasize the importance of aligning words with actions to rebuild Syria—politically, economically, and administratively—as a state founded on rights and responsibilities." It further called for the drafting of a new constitution that ensures the rights of all Syrian communities.

 Following the statement, several regional representatives delivered brief remarks, including: Mar Maurice Amsih, Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Jazira and the Euphrates, Sobhi Maliki, Co-Chair of the Syriac Youth in Syria, Ismail Dalaf, the Co-Chair of Yazidi House in Hasaka, Sheikh Mohammad Ali, representing Islamic religious leaders, Aziz Ahmo, representing the Kurdish component, Azhar Ahmad, representing the Syrian Democratic Council, Kalbahar, representing the Armenian Social Council

 Speakers strongly condemned Turkey’s ongoing attacks on the Tishrin Dam and reaffirmed their support for the SDF’s resistance in protecting the region. They collectively called for a decentralized Syria where the rights of all peoples, components, faiths, and sects are safeguarded.
