Political parties in Aleppo and Raqqa affirmed that the attack on "our civilians, children, and women in Deir ez-Zor is a crime against humanity and constitutes a war crime rejected by all international norms."

Aleppo

Today, the political parties in Aleppo issued a statement to the international community condemning the ongoing fires in occupied Afrin.

The statement, read by Salah Seno from the Democratic Union Party in Aleppo, was delivered in the presence of representatives from the Syrian National Democratic Alliance, the Future Syria Party, the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party, the Kurdish Unity Party in Syria, and the Syrian Democratic Council, at Martyrs' Square in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood.

The statement explained that, as political parties and forces in Aleppo, they are following with deep concern and strong condemnation the ongoing crimes committed against the region. The latest crime, directed by the Turkish government, involves mercenaries deliberately starting fires that have ravaged forests and fruit trees. Thousands of trees owned by the villagers of Idamo, Bilelko, and Midan near Rajo, and the village of Hajj Hasno in Sheh city, have been destroyed, along with thousands of trees in Balbala, where fires have continued into recent days, particularly in Mount Hawar.

The statement noted that the situation in Afrin is closely related to the events in Deir ez-Zor, where a brutal massacre resulted in the martyrdom of 11 local residents, mostly children and women, representing a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law.

The political parties held the Damascus government fully responsible for the suffering of Syrians across various regions of Syria and strongly condemned the practices and violations against the environment and people of the region.

They called on international powers, human rights organizations, and the global community to act against these practices being perpetrated against the people of Syria.

Raqqa

In the city of Raqqa, the Coordination of Political Parties in Raqqa Canton condemned the attacks by Damascus government forces on Deir ez-Zor Canton.

The statement was read in the Rashid Park in the center of Raqqa city in the presence of members of political parties in the Raqqa Canton of North and East Syria Region, by the administrator of the Modernity and Democracy Party, Mohamed Aboud.

The statement of the political parties stressed that while the forces of the Democratic Syria seek to fight ISIS mercenaries and establish security and safety in the NE Syria, and the Syrian Democratic Council and the Democratic Autonomous Administration seek to create conditions suitable for a serious Syrian dialogue that ends the crisis, "We see that there are regional powers trying to obstruct the solution in Syria by supporting their terrorist factions, and looking to prolong the crisis in search of their interests, and their mission is to try to destabilize security and create strife among the components of the Syrian people and strike the fabric community".

The statement stressed that the attack on: "Our civilian families, children and women in Deir ez-Zor is nothing but a crime against humanity and amounts to a war crime rejected by all international norms."

The coordination parties blamed the Damascus government for the massacre, and stressed: "We believe that stopping the violence in Syria will only be achieved through serious Syrian-Syrian dialogue, and that there is consensus among all segments of the Syrian people to reach a unified, democratic and decentralized Syria for all Syrians."
