With the first anniversary of the Tishrin Dam resistance approaching (January 8), participants from Çil Agha spoke about the conscious and responsible solidarity demonstrated by the people of Northeast Syria toward the dam, standing with their military forces to defend it and protect the region’s infrastructure.

Fadia Ahmed said: "The cooperation of the people with the Syrian Democratic Forces formed a crucial line of defense against the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and it played a decisive role in thwarting them."

She added that this solidarity was not spontaneous but based on concepts of organization and self-protection adopted by the people. Fadia also stressed that attempts to spread fear among civilians through direct targeting did not weaken their resolve, and their steadfastness alongside their forces contributed to protecting the dam.

She concluded by emphasizing the continued commitment to self-defense and protection alongside their military forces to safeguard the region’s achievements.

Kholoud Muhammad stated that the unity of will that brought the people together with the SDF at Tishrin Dam created a model for joint resistance in defending the area and reinforced the concept of essential protection.

She added: "What strengthened my belief in the Tishrin Dam resistance and led me to participate was the resistance shown by the SDF to protect the area, which convinced me of the importance of standing with our military forces against any threat and defending the gains achieved with the blood of the martyrs."

Kholoud affirmed that the Tishrin Dam resistance demonstrated the effectiveness of this solidarity in achieving victory, forming a strong barrier that thwarted the plans and objectives of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

Younes Haji said that his participation in the Tishrin Dam resistance was driven by moral, humanitarian, and national responsibility to defend the region’s gains. He explained that the steadfastness of the people alongside their military forces, despite the ongoing attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, contributed to achieving victory.
