Today, the people of the cities of Ad-Darbasiyah, Tal Tamr, and Zarghan in Al-Jazira Canton went out in a massive march to denounce the policies of genocide and torture to which Leader Abdullah Ocalan is being subjected, and to demand his physical freedom.

Members of AANES institutions and councils and women's and youth movements also participated in the march.

It started in front of the Free Women's Square in the city of Ad-Darbasiyah, and headed towards Hajj Sultan Mosque.

When the march arrived at Hajj Sultan Mosque, they observed a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, then Kongra Star’s administrator, Fatima Kalash, gave a speech in which she condemned the regime of torture and extermination imposed against the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Pointing out that the leader's last message confirmed his role in solving the problems of the Middle East, she added: "We will continue the path of resistance and we will remain in the squares until the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan is achieved."

For his part, the co-chair of the Gharra Town Council, Abdul Latif Badawiyeh, spoke, stressing that the continuation of the system of torture and extermination against the leader is not a normal procedure but rather hinders real efforts to resolve conflicts.

Stressing that the continuation of the people's struggle embodies the people's insistence on achieving the physical freedom of the leader, he said: "We, the components of NE Syria, affirm our commitment to escalate the struggle and move forward on the approach of Leader Ocalan to build the democratic nation."
