The city of Qamishlo witnessed a sit-in today attended by dozens of residents and shop owners, protesting the continued rise in commodity prices and the worsening living conditions.

The sit-in was held on Municipality Street in the central market, where participants raised banners denouncing high prices and declining living standards, calling for urgent solutions to the economic crisis.

The protesters also chanted slogans urging the relevant authorities to take immediate action to limit rising prices and respond to citizens’ demands. They stressed that living conditions have become increasingly difficult amid the continued increase in costs.

Participants said the aim of the sit-in was to convey the concerns of residents and demand practical measures to address the economic crisis. They pointed out that commodity prices continue to rise while salaries and incomes have remained unchanged, placing additional burdens on citizens.
