One killed, another injured in occupied Manbij city

One person was killed and another injured after their vehicle was shot at north of the occupied city of Manbij, amid ongoing violence fueled by security chaos and widespread arms proliferation.

A person was killed and another wounded when unknown armed assailants opened fire on their car near the Za’atar Factory, north of Manbij city, which remains under occupation by Turkish-backed mercenaries.

Earlier, on June 22, a young man was killed in Manbij following a dispute that escalated into a shooting incident, causing panic among residents and triggering a shootout as tensions heightened.

These incidents are part of a continuous wave of violence across areas controlled by both the Turkish occupation mercenaries and the Syrian Interim Government forces, driven by security disorder and the spread of illegal weapons. This ongoing turmoil exacerbates civilian suffering and deepens local tensions.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) had declared a ceasefire in the Manbij canton on December 10, 2024, following the occupation of several neighborhoods by mercenaries, supported by Turkish military air and ground forces, on December 8.
