One killed, 15 injured in Sweida clashes

Local sources reported that clashes broke out between armed tribal groups in the al-Maqous neighborhood in the Sweida countryside, resulting in a number of civilian casualties. The causes of these armed clashes are not yet known.

The sources indicated that a house in the neighborhood was completely burned as a result of the clashes, while fire trucks were unable to reach the site due to the intense gunfire.

In a later update, the sources reported that 15 people were injured, some of them in critical condition, with reports of casualties reported, but there has been no official confirmation yet.

No official clarification has been issued yet regarding the identity of the conflicting parties or the background to the clash, other than sources indicating that it is between armed tribal groups, amid a state of tension and caution prevailing in the region.
