Northern Kurdistan delegation pledges to continue Salih Muslim’s political path

A delegation from political parties and organizations in Northern Kurdistan arrived today in the city of Kobani to participate in the funeral ceremony of politician Salih Muslim, which will take place tomorrow. They were received at the Autonomous Administration Center in Kobani.

Afterwards, the delegation delivered a statement. Speaking on behalf of the Democratic Unity Initiative, Goljan Kaçmaz Sayyigit said that they would follow the path of Salih Muslim and preserve his legacy and political struggle.

The statement said:

“On behalf of our delegation, we greet and embrace you all. Today we are in the city of Kobani; part of us is sad and another part feels proud. Our hope was that one day we would live freely with our people on this land, on a day of freedom. But today we are here in sorrow because the great politician Salih Muslim has been martyred.”

Goljan also stated that they would continue along the path of the late Salih Muslim, saying:

“Salih Muslim, that kind person who loved his land, language, and culture, has been martyred. As a delegation, we came to this sacred land to attend the martyr’s funeral ceremony. We are here, and even if our eyes fill with tears, we will build behind us a free homeland and a free life. As a delegation, we recall the struggle of the martyr, and his resistance and struggle will light our path. We send our greetings to all our people in Rojava Kurdistan.”
