North Kurdistan delegation, Kongra Star discuss attacks on region

The North Kurdistan delegation discussed with the Kongra Star the attacks that Rojava region is being exposed to, mechanisms for joint action to stop them, and the essential role of women in the popular resistance.

After their visit to the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Qamishlo, the political delegation that had come from North Kurdistan visited the Kongra Star headquarters to follow up on the recent developments and attacks being launched against the Rojava region by factions of the Syrian Interim Government.

The delegation included, Tülay Hatim Oğulları; the co-chair of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Parti), Keskin Bayindir; the co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Gülcan Kaçmaz Sayığit; the Equality Party's deputy for Van and spokesperson for the Democratic Unity Initiative (SODAP), Ali Bozan; the Equality Party's deputy for Mersin, Asya Tay; the member of the Mothers of Peace Association, Cemin Fidan; spokesperson for the Free Women's Movement (TJA), Ahmet Ali Aslan; the administrator of the Freedom Rights Association (OHD), Ali Ankay; the member of Democratic Islam, and Ahmet Doyan; the head of the Mardin Human Rights Association.

The delegation was received at the Kongra Star headquarters in Qamishlo by Reyhan Loko, the Kongra's spokesperson, in addition to several other members of the Kongra.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to counter the attacks targeting Rojava, mechanisms for joint action to stop them, and ways to strengthen the active role of women in resisting these attacks.
