The Noon Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan issued a statement regarding the 26th anniversary of the start of the international conspiracy against Leader Abdullah Ocalan on October 9, 1998, which reads:

"Humanity is living through a tragic historical phase in the shadow of wars raging here and there, wars provoked by the forces of capitalist hegemony to achieve their greedy interests through the arms trade, an era in which the innocence of childhood, the dreams of youth, and the comfort of adults are killed, peoples are killed in wars in which they have no stake, they are mobilized with false slogans of nationalist, religious, and sectarian fanaticism, and the greatest calamity is the fate of women who suffer greatly from international wars and societal family wars. A historical phase that has made many people lose hope and everyone is floundering in a state of loss and alienation.

Within this harsh turmoil voices emerged calling on humanity to resort to reason and wisdom, otherwise annihilation would inevitably come. Great struggles emerged to achieve justice and peace. Theories were put forward, and resistances were escalated at the price of the best sons of peoples aspiring to freedom. Although they did not achieve their goals, their struggle was not in vain.

In the seventies of the twentieth century, Mr. Abdullah Ocalan began his struggle for freedom, in honor of all previous struggles and as a gift to humanity that deserves nothing but peace and a decent life.

His voice became a voice in the name of all enslaved peoples and oppressed women, he became the dreams of youth and the happiness of childhood, he fought the madness of exploiters and greedy for money and wealth, and refined all of this in his theses by striving towards democratic modernity. He has the certainty that difference and diversity in identities is a blessing and not a curse, and he opposed the foolishness that turned this wealth into warring identities. The project of the democratic nation was proposed so that everyone could live in civil peace and social justice, a society of free women in harmony with the first nature.

The dominant powers refused to allow this thought to prevail, and were terrified of the awakening of women and peoples if they knew it and acted upon it, as that would mean the end of their ambitions and wealth, so (the dominant powers) lay in wait for the resistance and plotted an international conspiracy (from countries and intelligence agencies) to capture Leader Abdullah Ocalan, to throw him into Imrali prison on an isolated island in the Sea of Marmara, for more than 25 years facing strict isolation and serious violations, deprived of the most basic rights of prisoners, prevented from communicating with the outside world, from health care and from a fair trial.

All the powers of capitalist hegemony, headed by the countries participating in plotting the conspiracy and the intelligence agencies associated with them, along with the international institutions claiming to be human rights organizations and anti-torture organizations that advocate for the rights of all political prisoners, bear responsibility for the situation in which the prisoner of thought Abdullah Ocalan is languishing. As for the silent political and human rights institutions and figures (who do not speak the truth), they are partners in this crime.

On the painful anniversary of the international conspiracy, once again we, the women of the "Noon Initiative for Ocalan's Freedom", raise our voices in denunciation of the practices of the Turkish state authorities and the forces supporting them, and we denounce the inaction of the European Court of Human Rights, and we reject the politicization of human rights institutions and call for a fair trial for Mr. Abdullah Ocalan and improving his detention conditions, and let everyone know that our first and last goal is his freedom, so we will not hesitate to continue our struggle at a higher pace to spread his ideas, publicize his cause and gain votes to call for his freedom.

The freedom of the freedom fighter and dignity is the freedom of the peoples who aspire to dignity and the freedom of women who struggle for freedom.
