Discussions and meetings are ongoing between the Qamishlo People's Council, the Shahba Civil Council, and the Directorate of Education regarding the evacuation of 17 schools in the city of Qamishlo. These schools currently house 210 displaced families from Shahba who were uprooted during 2013, 2018, and 2024.

In this context, a meeting was held today among the concerned parties in an attempt to address the issue; however, no solution or way forward has been reached so far.

The Qamishlo People's Council and the Directorate of Education have called for the schools to be vacated by this evening, while the Shahba Civil Council has requested that alternative accommodation be prepared for the displaced families so they can relocate and clear the schools.

Discussions and meetings between the concerned parties are continuing as they seek a resolution regarding the evacuation of the schools and the displaced families residing in them.

Currently, 1,350 displaced families from Shahba—who were uprooted in 2013, 2018, and 2024—are residing in the Qamishlo, Kobani, and Hasaka.
