New transformer Installed to enhance electricity stability in Qamishlo

As part of efforts to improve the electricity situation in the cities and regions of Rojava, the Jazira Energy Authority has begun installing a new electrical transformer at the Qamishlo substation. This aims to reduce the load and shorten power outages.

The Jazira Energy Authority has initiated a new step in its plans to improve the electricity situation by installing an additional 20 MVA power transformer at the Qamishli North substation (66/20 kV).

The project was implemented with the support of the Autonomous Administration, as part of efforts to develop the energy sector's infrastructure and enhance the stability of the electricity supply.

The new transformer is expected to alleviate the load on existing transformers, reduce outage durations, and improve the quality and stability of electricity supply in the city of Qamishlo and its surrounding areas.

The Energy Authority in al-Jazira canton continues to implement other projects, including the rehabilitation of medium-voltage networks, the maintenance of transformer stations, and the modernization of low-voltage networks, within a comprehensive plan aimed at raising the efficiency of the electrical grid and meeting the increasing demand for energy.
