New district administrators receive public welcome across Hasakah

Dozens of residents in Qamishlo welcomed Dr. Jihan Said Hassam, who took office as the district administrator of Qamishlo under Decision No. 50, issued on July 19. She became the first woman in Syria to serve as a district administrator.

Speaking after the reception, Hassam thanked residents for their warm welcome and pledged to serve all cities and towns within the district equally. She said she would make no distinction between Qamishlo, Amuda, Tirbespiyeh, Tal Hamis, and Jazaa, stressing that her office would remain open to everyone. She added that she preferred honesty and practical work over making promises.

Hassam also described Hasakah province as a model of coexistence, expressing pride in belonging to the province and saying that Syria today needs mutual respect, cooperation, and collective efforts to rebuild the country.

In Jal Agha, residents, representatives of civil and service institutions, and political parties welcomed Shiro Mohammed Sharo, the newly appointed district administrator of Derik, and Khaled Ibrahim Saleh, the newly appointed administrator of Jal Agha sub-district, as they officially assumed their duties under the latest administrative appointments.

In his remarks, Sharo said his priority would be serving residents, listening to their concerns, and addressing them within available resources. He stressed the importance of cooperation between public institutions and local communities and pledged to improve services in Derik, Çil Agha, Tel Kocher, Garkê Legê, and other areas under his administration.

He also emphasized the need to preserve stability, strengthen coexistence, and promote cooperation among all communities in the region, saying the current stage requires united efforts to build a better future within a pluralistic Syria based on partnership and cooperation.

In Derik, hundreds of residents, families of fallen fighters, and members of civil and service institutions welcomed Sharo upon his arrival in the city. Addressing the gathering, he reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening unity, serving all residents, and improving public services and local administration to meet citizens' expectations.
