National Guard announces downing of Drone in Sweida Countryside

The National Guard Command announced in a statement today that the Syrian Interim Government forces committed a new violation of the ceasefire agreement by sending four drones towards the western sector of Jabal Bashan in Sweida.

The statement indicated that the drones were launched at 4:15 PM today from the town of al-Mazraa, which is controlled by the Syrian Interim Government forces, towards the town of al-Majdal, in an attempt to target fronts' points and disrupt the field situation.

The statement confirmed that National Guard forces stationed on that axis managed to down one of the drones over agricultural land, while the remaining movements were dealt with using appropriate means, and full control of the area was re-established.

The National Guard Command added that this violation is part of a series of escalating attacks and provocations targeting its forces and the civilian population, stressing that these practices refute the claims of the Syrian interim government regarding its commitment to the ceasefire or its respect for any agreement or pledge.

The statement affirmed that the response to any aggression will be decisive and immediate, in accordance with the National Guard's duty to protect the people of the mountain, defend villages and towns, and maintain security and stability in the region.
