The National Guard Command in Sweida stated in a statement that during the early hours on Friday, it detected an attempt by three prisoners to escape from a detention facility, indicating that the incident resulted from the collusion of certain "traitorous" elements who exploited their position to carry out this security breach.

The command clarified that they immediately initiated investigation procedures by analyzing surveillance footage and tracking movements within the premises, which led to identifying preliminary clues that resulted in the arrest of two suspects. Moreover, security and military operations are still ongoing to track down the remaining individuals involved.

The command emphasized that all individuals involved in the incident will be held accountable in accordance with military laws without exception, stressing that no attempt to undermine security or the authority of the military institution will be tolerated.

The command urged to maintain calm and allow time for ongoing investigations, emphasizing that completing the legal procedures will reveal the full details of the incident to the public opinion once the investigations are concluded.

It also stressed the necessity of maintaining stability and internal cohesion, and reiterated the commitment to continue supporting security and military institutions until the investigation is completed and its final results are announced.
