Mission of female journalists is to develop revolution, protect women's gains

Gharbat Ali Arsoz paved the way for Kurdish women's journalism, which contributed to spreading the voice of women, especially Kurdish women in Turkey and Kurdistan, through her thoughts, research and feminine feelings far from the male mentality. With these steps, she was able to define the approach of free women's journalism and establish it in the mind of every person who believes in women's struggle.

Kurdish female journalists in the cities and mountains of Kurdistan continue to struggle on the path of truth. Many newspapers, magazines, agencies, channels, radio stations and websites in Kurdistan and Europe rely on this legacy.

Evaluating the status of women's journalism

Journalist Sterk Klo spoke to ANHA's agency about the status of women's journalism in Kurdistan.

Sterk Klo congratulated all female journalists on the occasion of Kurdish Women's Press Day, saying: "I bow in reverence to all the martyrs of free media. Let Kurdish Women's Press Day be a day of determination for us as female journalists to continue spreading freedom in Kurdistan."

 Sterk Klo noted that the world is living in the midst of a brutal war, and most of the victims of this war are children and women. She added: "All these attacks are the result of a gender-based mentality, and all the dominant powers in the region are adopting this mentality today. Therefore, the task of revealing the truth of these practices falls on the shoulders of the free press and the struggling women, and the truth of this war will be revealed through the pen of the free woman and the lenses of their cameras."

'Protecting women's rights is the mission of female journalists'

Sterk Klo stated in her speech that one of the moral responsibilities of female journalists is to protect women's rights, express women's struggle, and reveal to the public that the occupying Turkish state is targeting female journalists. The more women's struggle in Rojava escalates, the more the occupying state escalates its targeting of women, and she continued: "One of our tasks is to expose this dominant male mentality."

Sterk Klo also noted that it is also the task of female journalists to express women's desires and liberation and how to build a democratic family and to educate and train the sons and daughters of the revolution with national and democratic awareness. On the other hand, to show the difficulties and struggle that women are currently undergoing.

'Free media must be considered a source of struggle

Sterk Klo mentioned that female journalists have made great efforts in the field of media during the women's revolution, and that the revolution is still ongoing and faces great risks. She continued her speech by saying: "At this stage, the struggle must be escalated even more, we must embrace this revolution with both hands, and be the color and voice of the revolution. A woman who is capable of revolting must adhere to the freedoms and principles in which she believes."

  During her speech, journalist Sterk Klo also touched on the tasks and responsibilities required of female journalists at the current stage in Kurdistan, and stressed that female journalists must continue their struggle in the face of the approach of betrayal and the male mentality, and continued her speech: "There are difficulties, but I am confident that those who work for the authoritarian regime will not form a reality that women can emulate, and women will not be able to express themselves in the media of power.

  The media that exploits women's minds and thoughts for its own benefit. And covets to exploit women's bodies as well." Sterk Klo pointed out that female activists must realize that the umbrella of a free press is a source of struggle. And that their mission as women is to bear the responsibility of developing the revolution and thus protecting their gains
